University Research Scholarships At The Australian National University 2022/2023

Each year the Australian National University presents the University Research Scholarships to help high-performing HDR students who are performing research that aligns with the strategic surveillance of the University.

Australian National University
scholarship is provided by the Australian National University. The Australian National University (ANU) is a public research university situated in Canberra, the capital of Australia. Its core campus in Acton includes seven teaching and research colleges, in addition to several national academies and institutes.

ANU is considered one of the world’s foremost universities and is rated as the number one university in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere by the 2022 QS World University Rankings and second in Australia in the Times Higher Education rankings. Likened to other universities in the world, it is rated 27th by the 2022 QS World University Rankings, and equivalent to 54th by the 2022 Times Higher Education.

The core campus of ANU ranges across the Canberra suburb of Acton, which contains 358 acres (1.45 km2) of typical parkland with university buildings landscaped within. ANU is unevenly bisected by Sullivans Creek, part of the Murray–Darling Basin, and is surrounded by the native bushland of Black Mountain, Lake Burley Griffin, the suburb of Turner, and the Canberra central business district. Many university sites are of historical significance dating from the establishment of the national capital, with over 40 buildings recognized by the Commonwealth Heritage List and several others on local lists.

With over 10,000 trees on its campus, ANU won an International Maintainable Campus Network Award in 2009 and was rated the 2nd greenest university campus in Australia in 2011.

Four of Australia’s five learned societies are constructed at ANU—the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, and the Australian Academy of Law. The Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science and the National Film and Sound Archive are also situated at ANU, while the National Museum of Australia and CSIRO are located next to the campus.

ANU was rated 27th in the world (first in Australia) by the 2022 QS World University Rankings, equal to 54th in the world, and equal to 2nd in Australia (with the University of Queensland), by the 2022 Times Higher Education.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020, ANU was rated 6th in the world for geology, 7th for philosophy, 8th in the world for politics, 9th in the world for sociology, 13th in the world for development studies, and 15th in the world for linguistics. A 2017 study by Times Higher Education stated that ANU was the world’s 7th (first in Australia) most international university.

Australian National University Students’ Association (ANUSA) is the students’ union of the Australian National University and signifies undergraduate and ANU College students, while the Postgraduate and Research Students’ Association (PARSA) signifies postgraduates. The Australian National University Union manages catering and retail outlets and function amenities on behalf of all students.
